About me

My name is Danisha and I am a year 6 at Tamaki Primary School. This year my aim is to try and get to 200 blog posts! This means I will be practising my self-managing heart in my learning time. Come and check out my blog. I can't wait to read your feedback!

Learning about perimeter.

                                                                      


Today our class went out onto the courts to learn about perimeters. We learned how to work out the perimeter of a rectangle and a square. We also learned how to use stage 4, 5 and 6 strategies. The best part was when me and my partner drew our square and our rectangle.

My Family of Dinosaurs.

My family of dinosaurs

My sister, finkasaurus,

is a tattletaling shrew.

My brother, slobasaurus,

doesn’t quite know how to chew.

My mother, rushasaurus,

finds it hard to be on time.

My father, cheapasaurus,

never spends an extra dime.

Our doggy, barkasaurus,

keeps the neighbors up at night.

Our kitty, scratchasaurus,

gouges everything in sight.

And then there’s angelsaurus--

who, you might have guessed, is me--

the only one who’s perfect in this crazy family.

My Maths Test

Today I did a Maths test with Mrs Manuyag.
I learned: 

• I am just below the right stage for adding and subtraction.
• I am just below in my times tables. 
• I am below in my fractions. 

My goal is now going to be to move up to stage 5 in fractions by learning more about how fractions work!
